But regrettably I've got out of the habit of reading very long books and so I found the last part of this book heavy going/5(34).

For anyone new to John Cowper Powys I'd say 'start here: dive into the deep end'. Its vast reach touches the mystery of life, it endows everything from the sun to Somersetshire moss with consciousness, and has a cast of extraordinary characters. If there was ever a life-changing book /5(35).
